Role Play Activity: Who Decides - a development at Swamptown
Swamptown is a hypothetical new suburban development that requires modifying a degraded wetland, and may have severe impacts on a nearby 'pristine' wetland. Students work in groups to research and take on a role then decide how the development should be done. This activity was first produced by the Department for Environmental Protection to illustrate how environmental impact assessment and planning decisions are made in WA.

Sunset over the Catchment: a natural resource game
The Ribbons of Blue Environmental Education Boardgame was produced in collaboration with the Beachlands Primary School. Sunset Over the Catchment has great potential to further enhance learning and understanding of our environment, and in particular, water as a natural resource. Although the game is aimed at the middle childhood, early and late adolescence phases of development, a much wider audience can enjoy it.
Games containing Ribbons of Blue Curriculum Framework guides have been distributed to all Western Australian Schools who are registered with Ribbons of Blue. If you cannot locate a copy of the game, please contact your Regional Coordinators.
