Geographe & Cape to Cape Regions and Lower Blackwood Sub-region
The Region
The Geographe and Cape to Cape subregions are situated approximately 300km south of Perth, between Bunbury and Augusta in Western Australia's southwest region. The subregions cover approximately 2,250km2 and include four local government areas: Busselton, Capel, Donnybrook-Balingup and Augusta-Margaret River. The area is renowned for its scenic beauty and biodiversity.
Ribbons of Blue/Waterwatch WA was initiated in the Geographe Catchment by the Geographe Bay Advisory Committee (GBAC) in 1995. Ribbons of Blue is now based in the GeoCatch office in Busselton and the Capes to Capes Catchments Group office in Margaret River. All schools in the region have been involved in Ribbons of Blue to varying degrees since 1995.

Long-necked Turtles are common in the south-west. They breathe air and females leave the water in spring and summer to lay their eggs on land. They eat crayfish, shrimps, insects, molluscs and fish.
